Inviting local civil society organisations in Uganda to apply for partner pre-qualification

July 23rd, 2020

As new opportunities emerge throughout the year to expand our activities in Uganda, Terre des Hommes Netherlands is looking for potential partnerships to deliver our projects. Local civil society organisations that meet the criteria are invited to apply for pre-qualification.

Rationale for Pre-qualification

Terre des Hommes Netherlands develops projects on a rolling basis. This means that programmes evolve as opportunities emerge at any time of the year. To support the smooth delivery of any given project, we are therefore establishing a pool of credible and capable prequalified local NGOs, as a basis from which Project Partners can be identified.

Objectives of the Pre-qualification

This pre-qualification has two main objectives:

  1. To identify local NGOs that have expertise in areas relevant to Terre des Hommes Netherlands' thematic programme.
  2. To develop a database of credible local partner NGOs from which partners for different projects, aligned to Terre des Hommes Netherlands' themes, will be drawn as and when appropriate.

Eligibility Criteria

We are looking for local civil society organisations that fit the following description and requirements:

  1. Only local organisations registered in Uganda are eligible for pre-qualification.
  2. NGO must have been in existence for a period not less than three (3) years.
  3. NGO can apply for pre-qualification for a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of two (2) out of the five (5) thematic programme areas of Terre des Hommes Netherlands.
  4. NGO must have a verifiable performance track record in the thematic programme area for which it is seeking prequalification.
  5. NGO must be present in the current and anticipated geographical areas of operation, namely Kampala, Wakiso, Napak, Moroto, Tororo, Busia and Bugiri districts and potentially Rwenzori and Karamoja regions.
  6. NGOs that work with youth and young women are in particular encouraged to apply.
  7. NGOs must demonstrate strong financial management capacity with regular organisational and project financial audits (at least for the last 2 years audited accounts).
  8. Current partners of Terre des Hommes Netherlands in Uganda are not eligible to apply.
