The 14 year-old Samson knows all of the circumstances that could lure him to the big city: hi lives in the poor Napak region, where much of the child trafficking takes place. He comes from a big poor family and his older sister has already left to Kampala to earn money.

Even so, Samson stays in the village where he was born. Terre des Hommes helps him with the means to attend school, such as school fees, a uniform and school supplies. His younger brothers and sisters are also being supported to stay in school, in order to prevent that they are also lured to Kampala. His parents received a goat to help them support themselves.

I want to be a teacher or a leader in my village.

Samson is a good student and enjoys attending school. "Many of my friends can't go to school because their parents don't have the money for it. Instead I see them caring for the goats, and I realize that I am lucky to be able to go to school. In the future, I want to be able to care for my family and other people that need help. I hope to become a teacher or a leader in my village."
