Stichting Terre des Hommes Netherlands aims to prevent child exploitation, to remove children from exploitative situations and to ensure that these children can continue their development in a safe environment. Terre des Hommes focuses on sexual exploitation of children, the worst forms of child labour, child trafficking and migration, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and on child protection in humanitarian crises. For each of these forms of child exploitation, Terre des Hommes is developing and implementing projects and programmes through local partners, mainly in Asia and East Africa. In Asia, Terre des Hommes Netherlands works in Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, and Nepal.

Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a strategic and influential communicator with an extensive network and track record in business development in the Asia region. The BDM is responsible for strategic partnerships and resource mobilisation strategy and implementation; ensuring the financing of projects and programs within the Asia Region. The BDM identifies, cultivates and converts opportunities for funding and strategic partnerships with institutions, foundations, and the private market in line with regional and organisational strategy. To this end, strategy and policy are developed, various internal and external marketing and communication activities are implemented, and relationships are cultivated, actively maintained and further expanded. The BDM supports other responsible managers in achieving their business development targets through the development of relevant networks and resource mobilisation. The BDM secures and supports country offices and colleagues in the wider organisation in securing funding for new and existing projects and programmes.
Objective of the function
The Business Development Manager position is a new role, reflecting the changing donor landscape and changes in the sector more broadly. The BDM is responsible for regional resource mobilisation strategy development and implementation for the Asia Region.
Position in the organisation
The Business Development Manager is part of the Asia Regional Team and reports to the Regional Director, Asia. They are a member of the Asia Management Team, working closely with the regional team including the Programme Development Manager, Country Directors, and the global Institutional Partnerships (IP) and Marketing, Fundraising and Communications (MCF) teams.
