Stepping up the fight to end violence against children in Cambodia

Terre des Hommes Netherlands (TdH-NL) is an instrumental development partner in Cambodia’s fight to end violence against children. A year ago, the Government of Cambodia launched the Action Plan to Prevent and Respond to Violence Against Children 2017 – 2021, and since then, TdH-NL has worked tirelessly with the government, civil society organisations and other development partners to progress on the implementation of important actions.

 

Online child sexual exploitation (OCSE) on the rise in Cambodia

Nine Chinese men were arrested last week in Siem Reap, Cambodia for trading large scale pornographic materials of children. The men were arrested during raids on guesthouse rooms and rental houses at three different locations in Siem Reap’s  Svay Dangkum and Slakram communes. The provincial immigration police department also took part in the raids because the case involved foreign nationals.

Child marriage cases on the rise in Kerala, India

According to a National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) desk study done by Terre des Hommes Netherlands, child marriage in the developed state of Kerala, India, is on the rise.
