Two French men arrested on the suspicion of sexual abuse in Nepal

The Nepalese police have arrested two French men (38 and 42 ) in Kathmandu, on the suspicion of having sexually abused several boys aged 10 to 14 years old.

Local researchers of the childrights ONG Terre des Hommes in Nepal were doing research on both suspects, on information shared by the French police. In the days before the arrest, the local researchers cooperated intensely with the Nepalese police, who arrested the men on Sunday 22 July. Both suspects were in Nepal for the last few months. One of them has conviction in France for child abuse and possession of child pornography, according to the Nepalese police. 

Psycho-social and legal aid

A social worker of a local partner organisation of Terre des Hommes is providing psycho-social aid and counselling for the young boys and their parents. The families also receive legal advise and legal support towards and during the court case.
