KENYAN EMILY (20) ADDRESSES THE UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

Emily is 20 years of age, mother of one child and lives in Kenya. She is also a youth activist with the Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA). Today, on Human Rights Day, she was the youngest panel member during the UPR Info pre-sessions in Geneva and was given the opportunity to comment on the situation in her country to the United Nations Human Rights Council. With her speech, Emily represented 450 female youth lobbyists who had been victims of sexual abuse or gender-based violence in the past.
