Learning doesn’t stop in India's Mica Dependent Districts

Koderma and Giridih districts in Jharkhand are known for their incidence of child labour in mica mines. Terre des Hommes Netherlands in India has intervened in these areas, specifically focusing on educational interventions to ensure that children go to school and stop working in mines.

One such intervention is facilitating the functioning of Anganwadis (rural child care centres) for two to six-year-olds who are extremely vulnerable to child labour in the region. A part of this intervention included training children and families on early childhood learning concepts at home.
