Support to child trafficking survivors despite COVID-19 lockdown in Uganda

The safety of the children temporarily residing in the Transitional Rehabilitation Homes (TRHs) is the main priority of Terre des Hommes Netherlands and our partner Dwelling Places, in our programme focusing on child trafficking and unsafe migration in Uganda. All 23 boys and 11 girls in the homes are being prepared for reunion with their families followed by rehabilitation into their communities, so that they can pick up their lives after a history of child trafficking and unsafe migration. However, with the current restricted movement in Uganda as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, the children will remain in the TRHs for the time being, while strict measures have been taken to safeguard them from contracting the virus.
