Where we work

Where we work in Asia

Millions of children are exploited in Asia. Terre des Hommes Netherlands fights against exploitation in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Philippines and Thailand. We fight worst forms of child labour, sexual exploitation of children (online and offline) and ensure child protection in humanitarian emergencies.

Our work in Asia

We protect children by preventing and stopping child exploitation. We empower children to make their voices count. We believe that every child has the right to flourish.

In Asia, we fight worst forms of child labour in mica mining and waste collection communities in India. In Philippines we address prevalent forms of child labour in the Western and Central Visayas region. In our fight against sexual exploitation of children, we reach out to vulnerable children of readymade garment factory workers in Bangladesh, early married girls and children of Devadasis in India along with children vulnerable to and affected by online child sexual exploitation and trafficking in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Philippines and Thailand.

We work towards systemic change. We nurture collaborative efforts to combat child exploitation. We address issues at the roots, with children at the centre of our initiatives.

Alongside lobbying with governments, we advocate for stricter implementation of laws and strengthen existing mechanisms for child protection.
