Together we make an impact
Thanks to the support of our donors, volunteers and partners, we have achieved a lot in the past five years. In 22 countries, we have supported thousands of children to build a better future. As an organisation, we continuously evaluate and learn to improve our work and its impact. A year of renewal has started in 2023, more about this later. We now look back to see where we are.
Challenges
Since the establishment of Terre des Hommes Netherlands in 1968, we have faced many challenges. In the past five years, that has undoubtedly been the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020 and 2021, due to the lockdowns and closure of schools, we were unable to reach as many vulnerable children than before. Since last year, we have seen the adverse effects of COVID-19 diminish and we were able to fully continue the fight against exploitation with our partners.
Hope for the future
Fortunately, we are seeing familiar results returning and that creates hope for the future. However, there is still much work to be done. As long as children are sexually exploited, child labour still takes place and children are extra vulnerable due to migration and humanitarian crises, we will not stop. That is why we are happy to share our impact video from 2018 to now. For everyone who, like us, continues to believe in a world without child exploitation.
